Ministry with Children and Young People

People of all ages, including children and youth, are an integral part of our church community. Together, we can learn and grow in our faith and commitment to God.

In our ministry with young people (under the age of 18) we will work towards the young people

  • feeling that they belong within the faith community
  • growing a deep sense of God’s love for them
  • learning more about who God is and how

Young people worship as part of our faith community, there are special activities, connected to the theme of worship for that day, to help them learn and engage in a variety of ways. At Arana Hills we endeavour to worship in a way that is accessible to all people and all ages.

Safe Ministry With Children

The Arana Hills Uniting Church is committed to providing safe places where people are cared for, nurtured and sustained and commits itself to the care, protection and safety of all people, particularly those who are vulnerable. We commit to ongoing compliance with requirements of the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 (QLD) and the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Regulation 2020 (QLD), and adopt the Uniting Church in Australia, Queensland Synod Safe Church Policy. We will ensure the implementation of procedures and resources to assist our congregation to meet and demonstrate its responsibilities under the Act.

Members of our congregation, who work with children, are screened, hold a valid blue card, are trained and held accountable.
